Academic Competition Held among Dentistry Faculty Students

 

The Department of Stomatology and the Cultural Affairs Sub-Committee of the Faculty of Dentistry at Spinghar Institute of Higher Education (Nangarhar) organized an academic competition in the subject of Islamic Belief System between second and third-semester students.

The competition was held on Saturday (19 October, 2024) in the institution’s main conference hall and was attended by the jury panel, the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, the Deputy Dean, faculty members and students.

At the opening of the event, Dr. Abdullah Rahmani, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, extended his gratitude to the jury members, the Cultural Affairs Sub-Committee officials, and all relevant collaborators for organizing the competition. He emphasized that such programs are valuable for capacity building, knowledge exchange and fostering healthy competition among students, encouraging them to take active participation.

Fazal Rahman Ziarmal, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, highlighted the significance of the competition and reminded students of their responsibilities. He spoke about the importance of extracurricular activities, particularly academic competitions, alongside formal curriculum-based learning and shared his recommendations with the students.

The competition questions and results were arranged through a transparent process in the presence of the participants. On behalf of the jury panel, Dr. Abdullah Rahmani announced the second-semester students as the winners, and prizes were awarded to students from both semesters.

At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Riaz Salarzai, Head of the Stomatology Department, shared his positive feedback on the competition. He emphasized the importance of such programs in enhancing students’ academic growth, communication skills, critical thinking, and debate abilities and called for the continuation of similar initiatives in the future.
