An academic competition on the subject of Blood Banking was held among 7th and 8th semester students by the General Department of Medical Technology Faculty at Spinghar Higher Education Institute – Nangarhar, in collaboration with the Directorate of Foreign Languages and Professional Development and the Faculty's Cultural Affairs Subcommittee.
The competition took place last Sunday (April 21, 2025) in the Institute’s main conference hall, with the participation of the Institute’s Academic and Student Affairs Deputies, the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Technology, the faculty’s deputy, and administrative staff, and dozens of students.
Addressing the students, Dr. Nasir Khan Jamal, Deputy for Academic Affairs, emphasized the importance of such events and elaborated on the value of soft skills during both academic and professional life. He highlighted that the first part of the competition—presentation of academic seminars by both teams—and the second part—answering the jury's questions—are essential elements of these skill sets.
In his opening remarks, Fazlurahman Ziaramal, Deputy for Student Affairs, extended his appreciation to the faculty and related instructors for organizing the competition. He further added that such programs are beneficial for encouraging intellectual exchange and healthy academic competition among students, and urged all students to participate actively.
The competition’s questions and final results were assessed transparently in the presence of all attendees. Technologist Mohammad Jamil Waseem, Dean of the Faculty, announced Group B of the 7th Semester as the winners. Gifts were also distributed to both groups on behalf of the Faculty.
It is worth mentioning that the General Department of Medical Technology has previously conducted similar competitions, which have significantly contributed to enhancing students’ academic proficiency and communication skills.
