National Scientific-Research Conference
An overview of the health system and services in Afghanistan: problems, opportunities and solutions
Spinghar Institute of Higher Education (Nangarhar), aligning with its five-year strategic priorities, quality assurance and accreditation standards, and in pursuit of implementing its strategic plan for 1403, intends to organize a national scientific-research conference focused on the challenges and opportunities of health services in the country. Accordingly, we respectfully invite the academic staff of medical faculties from both public universities and private educational institutions, as well as specialists from teaching hospitals and providers of tertiary, comprehensive, and basic health services, to submit their unpublished articles for review and acceptance. Submissions should be in the national languages and relevant to the thematic areas of the conference.
Thematic Areas
1. Lessons learned for relevant institutions (governmental, non-governmental agencies and private sector) from recent health disasters (pandemics), especially Corona.
2. Maternal, newborn and child health (Antenatal Care/ANC, Childbirth in Health Centers, Postnatal Care/PNC, Newborn Care/NBC, Immunization)
3. The current state of food security of Afghans, particularly vulnerable populations (under five years children, pregnant women, returnees, internally displaced persons, disabled people, etc.): problems , opportunities and solutions
4. Mental health of Afghans and its support strategies, especially vulnerable people (under five years’ children, pregnant women, returnees, internally displaced people, disabled people, etc.)
5. Critical review of the structure, strategy, policy and guidelines of health service delivery: problems, opportunities and solutions
6. Opportunities and challenges related to the diagnosis, diagnostic methods, treatment, prevention and epidemiological researches of infectious diseases.
7.Diagnosis, diagnostic methods, treatment, prevention and epidemiological studies of non-communicable diseases: problems, opportunities and solutions
8. The air pollution in different provinces of the country: problems and opportunities for improvement
9. Medical workers (professionalism, skills, attitudes, work commitment): problems, opportunities and solutions
10. Reasons of patients going abroad for diagnosis and/or treatment: problems and solutions
11. Food and drinking water: current status of sanitation and hygiene, existing problems and solutions
12. Access to tertiary, comprehensive and basic health services: problems, opportunities and solutions
13. Level of drug use, challenges and solutions for its prevention and control
14. Health Information System (HMIS) related problems, opportunities and solutions
15. Reviewing the financial ability of citizens for receiving health services
16. Challenges and solutions to medical research in Afghanistan
