Nearly 19,000 cc of Blood Donated to Thalassemia Patients by Students of Spinghar Higher Education Institute

Nangarhar – On Sunday (April 12, 2025), dozens of students from the three faculties of Spinghar Higher Education Institute (Nangarhar), in collaboration with the Dosto Khail Charity Foundation and the Thalassemia Center, donated approximately 18,750 cc of blood to patients suffering from thalassemia during a blood donation campaign.
Mr. Fazal Rahman Ziarmal, Deputy for Student Affairs at the Institute, described the purpose of the campaign as a gesture of solidarity with thalassemia patients and a contribution to their health support. He expressed his appreciation to the officials of the Dosto Khail Thalassemia Center and extended gratitude to all those citizens, especially the students, who contribute to saving lives through blood donation.
Mr. Islamuddin Shinwari, General Director of the Dosto Khail Charity Foundation and the Thalassemia Center, thanked the leadership and organizers of Spinghar Higher Education Institute for their continued cooperation in fully supporting the blood donation process. He also expressed special appreciation to the students who donated blood in today’s campaign to help save the lives of thalassemia patients.
It is worth mentioning that at the end of the previous academic year (1403 L.H.), a cooperation agreement was signed between the Spinghar Momand 50-Bed Teaching and Curative Hospital and the Dosto Khail Thalassemia Center. Prior to that, nearly 44,000 cc of blood had already been donated to thalassemia patients by the institute’s administrative staff, faculty members, and students in collaboration with the center at various times.
