A consultative meeting was convened by Spinghar Institute of Higher Education (Nangarhar) to review the preparations for the upcoming National Research Conference.
The meeting was attended by external members of the conference’s review committee, including former Nangarhar University Chancellor and Faculty of Medicine Professor, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmad Behsudwal, Dean of Nangarhar Medicine Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Azim Azimi, Professors of the Faculty Medicine, Senior Teaching Assistant Dr. Sadaqat Momand and Senior Teaching Assistant Dr. Abdul Ghaffar Shirzad, along with the Chancellor of Spinghar Institute, Said Shamsuddin Hemmat, institute chancellors, deans of the three faculties and the chief medical of Spinghar Momand 50-Bed Teaching and Diagnostic Hospital, Specialist Dr. Ghulam Nabi Kakar.
During the opening speech, the institute's chancellor, Said Shamsuddin Hemmat, expressed gratitude to the leadership of Nangarhar University and the Faculty of Medicine for their ongoing support and collaboration. He provided the attendees with updates on the completed and ongoing preparations for the national research conference. Following this, the participants discussed five key agendas related to the conference.
The external and internal members of the conference’s review committee expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far and shared their advice, suggestions and opinions regarding the upcoming activities. They also pledged their full cooperation in their respective roles.
It is noteworthy that the deadline for submission of research articles for the National Research Conference, titled “A Review of the Healthcare System and Services in Afghanistan: Challenges, Opportunities and Solutions”, ended last Saturday (04 January, 2025). After final revisions and reviews, the selected articles will be presented at the conference, which will take place shortly.
The approved articles will also be published in the Spinghar Medical Sciences Research Journal, and the authors will be awarded both material and honorary benefits.
